To tell you about myself, my name is Sarah and I am a junior at SU. I'm involved with a bunch of stuff on campus (ResLife, Peer Academic Mentors, Tri Delta, StuFo, Finch Society), which I guess indirectly reveals my interests (i.e. building cohesive community in my living space, helping others attain goals, socializing with like-minded and not-so-like-minded individuals, being involved in the SU community, and recruiting prospective students). I also babysit in my spare time for two wonderful G-town families, which is super fun.
I lived in the wonderful city of Lubbock, Texas, this summer, which was an adventure to say the least. I learned a lot about myself and life and all that jazz, which was pretty invigorating. I did a lot of thin slicing in my pursuit of new friendships, and I have never before experienced the importance of first impressions to such an extent. Goodness, people are judge-y. Or maybe it's Lubbock people, in particular. But I survived the summer, and I even have some close friends and quite a few paychecks to show for it.
This blogging thing is relatively new to me, but I'm excited about the process. I hope to write a somewhat entertaining blog this semester, although this first entry clearly doesn't accomplish such a feat. Blame it on the thai food.
love the title!! :-)
